Wanderlust: Driving me crazy

                   They say the roads have answers for everything and a long drive is all we need to get them talking. Just the thought of “driving all night” takes me to the beautiful places that I have visited with my buddies. We must have adventures in order to know where we belong. Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind and a road trip with my best buddies is the perfect stress buster. It is true that road trips aren’t measured by mile markers but by memories that we make on the way and cherish them forever.

Grab the wheel and hit the road ,
Somewhere out there lays my abode ;

The road is my friend n journey my home ,
There’s no better feeling than exploring the unknown ;

Let me ride, let me cruise ,
Kill the chaos and Hit the snooze ;

'Coz Travel is eternal, journey is pure ,
Wanna see it all but time no more ;

Adore the nature, open the doors ,
Just let me drench when it pours ;

Driving is my passion and Wandering my fate ,
Just let me flow and let me peregrinate ;

Let me peregrinate...

My cheetah, My soul

Wings of Fire: #APJAbdulKalam

          Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was an inspiration as a visionary, a genius as a scientist, a trendsetter as The President of India and a role model for all of us in its purest form. He has been igniting minds all along his beautiful journey and will always represent ingenuity for us. You can see his simplicity and greatness in his thoughts and a compilation of his quotes is like a crash course to success, if you can really do that.

1. Anyone can be successful.

may be found on the last benches of the classroom "

2. You can even change the destiny.
" You cannot change future but you can change your habits,
and surely your habits will change your future "

3. Have a plan.
" You have to dream before your dream can come true "

4. Don't mess it up.
" Dream is not that you see in sleep,
it is something that does not let you sleep "

5. Focus.
" Don’t read success stories you will get only message,
read failure stories and you will get some ideas to achieve success "

6. Believe in yourself.

                              # I am the best
                              #  I can do it
                              #  God is always with me
                              #  I am a winner
                              #  Today is my day "

7. Fight the odds.
" Man needs his difficulties
because they are necessary to enjoy success "

8. I mean...literally.
" If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like sun "

9. Learn from mistakes.
" Your best teacher is your last mistake "

if your determination to succeed is strong enough "

11. Enjoy but Keep working hard.

more lips are waiting to say that your first was just luck "

12. Don't forget to live your life.
" Love your job but don’t love your company,
because you may not know when your company stops loving you "

अपनों का साथ : You Make Me Smile

At first I thought it would be an easy one but it is actually a toilsome task to pick one person who can light me up in the darkest of times. It is arduous because if I have to make a list, I may run out of time but not names. But I would love to pay my tribute to each one of these lovely people who holds a special place in my heart.

कहते हैं अच्छे दोस्त यूँ ही नही मिला करते ,
के उसने ये दामन कुछ इस तरह सजाया है ;

के हर मोड़ पर मिले नायाब लोग ,
और हर एक में वो ख़ुद  ही समाया है ;

कभी थामे ये लड़खड़ाते हाथ ,
तो कभी ग़म में भी हंसाया है ;

दिन हो चाहे या हो अंधेरी रात,
इनकी मुस्कान ने हर पल साथ निभाया है ||

  • The love of my life and my soulmate, the lady with a beautiful smile: my beloved wife would definitely be the one person whose smile can cheer me up anytime.

  • My strength, my zeal, the best mother in the world - my mom. All I have is her memories but a glimpse of her smile pumps me up even today.

  • My inspiration, my catalyst, the ideal man and a role model – my father. He smiles less often but that just adds even more flair to it.

  • The sweet, the chirpy, the pranksters and the rainbow of my life...my sisters.

  • The crazy and funny bubbles of laughter...my kids...all my niece and nephew.

  • The coolest buddies, partners in all my crimes, the ones who always stand by me, the stupid and the wise...my best buddies. The roughest of times don’t stand a chance against their smile.

  • The most of all, the fact that I have so many people who will do anything to make me smile in tough times’ actually puts a teary smile on my face. Hope they stick with me forever.

The one's I failed to mention also come shining as the saviors of my smile sometimes.

Epic: A tribute to Indian History

  I have grown up watching discovery and nat-geo and the history channel was also promising. But they were mostly about European and American history and accomplishments. I was pleasantly surprised to see a channel dedicated to the Indian history and that too in HD. The creators deserves an applause for their effort. Welcome to the savior of Indian history : EPIC HD. I am no expert but I have always cherished the enormity of Indian history. Here are links to few of my posts on history :

                It’s a pity that the tales of our glorious past are lying in ruins. This channel is a small step which will take us closer to our own roots. Everyone should check it out and I am sure you will find something to soothe your taste buds, be it cricket, movies, ancient architecture, stories, food or legends. So just tune into EPIC HD and be ready to be amazed.

Smile with McCain

“You can be sure it’s fresh- If it’s frozen.” British Frozen Food Federation

             I have always been a foodie and snacking has fed me more than regular meals because of extended duty hours, late night studies and an aversion to the food served in hostel mess or canteens. Being a medico has its own drawbacks but luckily I met McCain in the process. I like to cook but not every food likes me. Ready to cook McCain snacks plays well to my strengths. Although there were more than many occasions when I enjoyed McCain products with family and friends but few moments have lasted the test of time. McCain Chilli Garlic Potato Bites were my mom’s favorite. She was very easy to please and a quick snack was all that used to do the trick. I remember the time when I was in Goa with my beloved wife for a vacation. I used to cook her breakfast each day to make her feel special and experiment with anything I got my hands on. One day I jumbled up an exotic omelette with McCain Super Wedges at the base and voila....it was spot on. Not just the quarterly vacations but McCain have spiced up our weekends too. A homemade burger with McCain Aloo Tikki was all that my taste buds craved for on weekends. McCain snacks but they were always a part of our tea breaks and small gatherings at home. McCain has always been the perfect escape route to a fun time even when we were not expecting guests. McCain French fries and Smiles blend well with the kids too. If potato is the king of snacks (ChandraGupt Maurya) then McCain would surely be the great Chanakya himself. Just love the fact that they are healthy “better for us” and tasty “fun to eat”. You should try it for sure, it will change the way you snack forever.

What women want : समवेदना

" मैं नारी हूँ मैं सबला हूँ, समरूप हूँ मैं पर हीन नहीं,

मैं तुमसे हूँ तुम मुझसे हो, पर एकाकी हम फ़रदीन नहीं | "

                Social equality is a state of affairs in which all people have the same status in respect of civil rights, freedom of speech, property rights, and equal access to social goods and services and so on. It is the same thing for which women have been fighting for a very long time now and they have succeeded to some extent too. I am no women to tell what they want but what they need is definitely not just equality. Our constitution has come a long way to ensure equality but what needs to change is the mindset of masses. We must place ourselves in their shoes and feel what they are feeling and equality will follow. Such Empathy is known to increase pro-social behaviors.  We must try to understand women’s condition from their perspective. Men and women have roles- their roles are different but their rights are equal. Gender equality is not a women’s issue, it’s a human issue. It affects us all and we cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. But the current situation is so bad that you don’t have to treat women as superior to men to be labelled as a feminist; you just have to think they are equal.

I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men;

they are far superior and have always been.

                                                                               -William Golding

            Yes, they have always been superior and what they must strive for is empathy and not just equality. And it is upon us all, including men, to make it a reality.
