  • Going to bed on Saturday night with the feeling that you don’t need to get up or be somewhere early is imperative to set the flavours for a perfect Sunday.

Setting the pace right:
  • Start the day off with a lazy morning to sink it in, get in the groove after the breakfast and kick your brain with reading, writing or gaming etc. Keeping in mind that the body is still slothful, plan an outdoor activity like exploring a historical marvel in your neighbourhood. Lurking around in the feasty meadows of roadside lip smacking snacks will prime your salivary glands for the fine dining binge. Satiating all your senses will end the perfect Sunday on a high and leave you wanting for more. Having a perfect Sunday will impel you to take it one step further the very next weekend.

NOTE:
There is no single recipe for a perfect Sunday but a day well spent is all that matters and you can explore a new perfect Sunday every weekend.

Wisdom & Rotundity

Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik:Author, Speaker,Illustrator, Mythologist

I help leverage the power of myth in business, management, and life.

Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik has redefined Indian mythology with his books and lectures. He is also the former chief belief officer of Future Group, one of India's largest retailers. He is not only one of my favorite writers but he is an imposing orator too. Listening to his lectures will take you deep into the realm of spirituality. He has written over 600 articles and 30 books on the relevance of sacred stories, symbols and rituals in modern times and each one is better than the other. He also writes a column for the newspaper MiD DAY. His awesome creations include Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata which is an introduction to Mahabharata, Sita: An Illustrated Retelling of the Ramayana which has brought more nuances to the daughter of the earth goddess than you may have previously encountered, Shikhandi: And Other Tales they Don't Tell You which gives an insight into how ancient India viewed queer behavior without  being judgmental, Myth = Mythya: A Handbook of Hindu Mythology which gives meaning to mythological tales and rituals, Business Sutra: An Indian Approach  to Management and most recently, My Gita- which is pattanaik’s analysis of Gita.

Mythology = stories, symbols and rituals that communicate myth.

I am glad that his presence is not limited to those cranky bookstores and libraries anymore and his smiling face keeps coming up every now and then. His TV show explaining the intricacies of Indian mythology has recently been launched on a new TV channel EpicHD. It is the Indian version of the Discoveries and history channels and the show is aptly being called Devlok. It's like a crash course in mythology. If you would like to dive into mythology with an open mind trying to reason everything keeping the superstitions aside, this is the place to be. So just tune in to Epic HD 10:00 pm every Wednesday and Thursday and tell me how you liked it..

"Stars are natural. Constellations are made by joining the dots.
I bring analysis to the table."

It was a usual Sunday morning when I was happily surprised to see Devdutt’s interview by @Saudamini Jain in HindustanTimes Brunch. He talked about mythology, his new book My Gita and making Indian scholarship matter. You should see it to know him up close.

Sachin! Sachin! #madeofgreat

Thinking of someone #madeofgreat is not tricky because there are many but the difficult part is to name just one. My father have always been my inspiration. His perseverance and assiduity in his 40 years of service have been an inspiration. He is a living legend with simple living and high thinking. There is only one person whose life has been as impelling as my dad's but he has galvanized a lot many more minds. #Sachin! #Sachin! It is not less than a holy verse for a master blaster fanatic and #Sachin is the God himself. This post is just a meagre attempt to hold his magnificence in a handful of words. Lets see how it fairs...

Who is greater than #Sachin
‘coz he is second to none,

Cricket has seen many,
but #Sachin is only one,

He is the god of cricket,
sitting on the Everest of runs,

Some are Hindu, some Muslim;
but He is my religion,

He is the quintessential cricketer,
yet beyond all convention,

He ruled the world from 22 yards,
with his throne in all the hearts that he won,

He is the epitome of timing,
and paradigm of immaculate precision,

He has a record of records,
 and a ton of tons,

He demolished his oppositions,
without ever touching a gun,

He is the totem of humility,
 an exemplar of passion,

He saw a dream,
and lived it with diligence & resolution,

His life is an epic,
for us immortals it’s a lesson,

We can’t possibly match his feats,
but trying it would be fun!!!

Watching you has made our eyes even more precious!!!

परिचय : #IamSpecial

मैं शायर तो नहीं , पर इन जज़्बात का इस काग़ज़ से ज़रूर कोई नाता है ;

के लोग समझ पाते नहीं जो एहसास, वो अनायास ही इसपर उतर आता है...

Hi there, It's been some time here on blogosphere and I already feel like at home. I am enjoying writing more than ever and all the credit goes to the people who have been supporting me. So here's me and my blog. I am a doctor by profession currently based in Delhi, a blogger by choice & a poet at heart and my blog is basically everything that comes to my mind. I like poetry and it happens to find a place in my almost every post. You can say a lot in just a few words with poetry...just love it. My hindi poetry blog is here too https://doc2poet.wordpress.com/ .Here are a few ones about me:

पाँव ज़मीं पर नहीं मेरे,  के इन बादलों पे सवार हूँ मैं,

I have also been scribbling enough to come up with one sketch or more but it takes a lot of time to create one.

I have also been dueling with guitars but have not yet tamed any. I love music though and there is nothing better than feeling it live. As of now, I am not sure how this blog will turn out but one thing is certain...that you will be intrigued to read it. Please review my blog and keep in touch...Would love to hear from you.

Baby's day out: #SoftestForBabySkin

Baby’s skin is delicate and immature. It is easily irritated, and prone to trauma and infections due to paucity of host defenses. So you need to give it a very special care and use appropriate products to keep your baby's skin as soft and flexible as a baby's bottom. But no matter what you think or do, please consult your dermatologist or pediatrician whenever you are in doubt.

Use
baby-friendly products and fabrics: Always choose hypoallergenic skin care products that are specially formulated for a baby’s skin. Harsh or dangerous chemicals may harm your baby’s skin. Remember to choose a baby-friendly detergent too because those adorable clothes will be rubbing up against your baby's skin.

Post-bath massage: Not only are massages a great way to bond with your baby, they are a great way to keep his/her skin soft too. The best time for a massage is after a bath because your baby's skin is plumped up and well hydrated so that it will holds moisture from an oil or lotion better. Take this opportunity to briefly massage your baby as he enjoys it, gently massage the baby’s entire body with your moisturizing product until it has fully penetrated the skin, or use massage oil specially designed for babies. You can warm the product with the tips of your fingers. That way, your baby will accept it more easily. Carefully moisturize your baby's entire body and face using a moisturizing cream and body lotion after every bath.Massage is very effective for relaxing your baby as preparation for sleep, so just tug him/her in a warm, cozy bed after the massage.

Protect sensitive areas:
For your baby’s lips and exposed sensitive areas, use a moisturizing stick. Remember to check the area behind your baby’s ears, armpits and perineum on a regular basis. These areas are often overlooked, but they are prone to rashes and dryness.

Protect your baby from weather: When you go out with your baby during the autumn or winter months, cover sensitive areas completely (head, nose, throat, ears, hands, etc.) with a hat, scarf, mittens and so on. You’ll protect the child against not only colds, but also the drying effects of chilly air. Also keep your baby covered in lightweight, long-sleeved clothing, and sunglasses whenever you go out in the sun.

Prevent diaper rash:
Try to change your newborn's diapers every two hours or so or as soon as it seems full, change a poop diaper immediately, clean your baby's bottom thoroughly but avoid vigorous rubbing, use a good diaper cream if your baby needs it. A little rash here and there is inevitable but consult a pediatrician if the rash is not improving. Using the softer, more comfortable varieties of diapers will keep the baby dry & happy and you pleased and tranquil.

“Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy, and your baby happy. ”

True Love...

इस दुनिया में हर किसी को मुकम्मल जहाँ नहीं मिलता,

किसी को मंज़िल नहीं मिलती, किसी को कारवाँ नहीं मिलता

True love is the best thing you can ever experience and it is as beautiful as it can ever be because...

True love is eternal, true love never dies,

True love is illimitable; it is beyond the oceans and skies,

True love is breeze, true love is sunrise,

True love is verity; it is the ultimate truth, above all lies,

True love never ends, it makes you fool, it makes you wise,

True love is a myth, true love is sublime,

True love is earthly, true love is divine,

True love is everywhere, but not everyone can find,

Blessed are those, whose love is their lifeline,

Love is their lifeline...

Million Dollar Dream

" चन्द  सिक्कों  पे  गुरूर  न  कर    ग़ालिबये  वक़्त  की  रेत  में  खो जाया  करते  हैं "

Million dollars is too big an amount to not make any difference and the mere thought of the possibilities that can turn into reality ‘If I had a million dollars’ just opens up the doorways to a new realm. But I believe that the best thing would be that I can continue to be me, the real me, the me I am now even, when I have a million dollars at my disposal. Of ‘course things would be a little more grand but the essence should remain the same. I love to travel, I relish writing, I enjoy my work, I cherish being part of charity and I crave for perfection in everything that I do. This is just a crux of what I am today and what I would like to be ‘If I had a million dollars’

Another important aspect of this million dollar thought would be ‘with great power comes great responsibility’. We tend to spend each penny with caution when we have scarce resources but with a million dollars in our pocket it is upon us too to make each penny count. So let us just not be carried away with the weight of the bullion and try be true to our souls.
